Introductions

Hi! Welcome to Nana’s Cabin. This blog is mainly to help record the journey our family is taking with a cabin in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. Nana is my mother-in-law, and we are the Reeds. Let me introduce you to us:

Nana and Papa – Kirk and Cathy

It was Nana’s dream to have a cabin in the mountains for our family. We have always been a group that loves to camp together. We also have a yearly get-together with extended family in the mountains we affectionately call the Reed Rendezvous. When this cabin became available, we knew it would need some TLC, but the prospect of having a place for us all to gather in the mountains was priceless. (Well, not exactly, but you know…)

Next we have my hubby’s older brother Bobby, his wife Jennifer Ann (more on the significance of this later), and their girls.

In between Bobby and my hubby comes his sister, Jennifer Marie and her son.

And finally we have my hubby, Ty, me – Jennifer Danielle, or Jenni, and our 2 kids.

Now you may have noticed a trend, and if you didn’t, seriously, look closer. Ha ha!! There are 3 Jennifers in our family. We have affectionately numbered ourselves with Jennifer Marie as #1, Jennifer Ann as #2, and me… well I’m just 3. 🙂

Bridge Wash Out

Memorial Day Weekend – 2018

The bridge washed out Memorial day as we were all heading home! Nana did it!

These photos were taken as the water flow increased because of rain over the weekend. Bobby had crossed it earlier in the morning. As Nana, Papa, and I left Nana went first and the bridge tried to float away after she went accross it. We reassembled it and I crossed it with the Yukon, but we had to leave behind Bobby’s big truck that Papa was driving. Papa should have more photos.

This is what the bridge looked like before we removed it. Lots of broken and missing deck poles.
